Spirit of Speyside Festival will return this spring

One of the largest and most well known whisky festivals in the world - Spirit of Speyside Festival - will take place this year in two editions. An online event is planned for spring, while the organisers are planning to conduct a separate event in a traditional way at the end of the year.

The team behind this popular festival has announced that during the April internet event, whisky fans from around the world will be able to see the most famous and respected whisky distilleries and producers from Speyside. The full program of the event is to be announced in the coming weeks, but already confirmed, among others, are a virtual tour of one of the most modern distilleries in Scotland, Dalmunach Distillery, a tasting tour of the Malt Whisky Country with The Malt Whisky Trail, as well as getting acquainted with the new BenRiach brand portfolio with the global brand ambassador Stewart Buchanan.

If the epidemiological situation and the applicable restrictions allow it, the organisers hope that the traditional event will be able to take place on November 3-8, 2021.

- Given whisky lovers won’t be able to come to Speyside for our annual festival this April, we have decided to take the festival to them until it is safe for visitors to return to Malt Whisky Country hopefully later in the year – said James Campbell, Chairman at The Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival. - We can’t wait to welcome new and returning visitors from the UK and further afield to this beautiful part of the world. In the meantime, we hope that our online programme of events in April will lift everyone’s spirits and give people a taste of what to expect from the festival in November. We will then revert back to our traditional date in 2022 – he added.

Tickets for the spring, virtual edition of Spirit of Speyside will go on sale online on March 16, 2021. It will be the 21st edition of the popular festival. Last year, the event was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
