Destylarnia Balmenach

The Balmenach Distillery is located at the foot of the Cromdale Hills between the Spey and Avon valleys in the Speyside region. It was officially legalized in 1824 by farmer James McGregor, but it is well known that whisky was produced here illegally long before that date.

Balmenach whisky is typical of the region, non-turf and mild in character. It is one of the rarer single malt whisky on the market, almost entirely intended for composing blended whisky. Rare outlets of independent bottlers are highly appreciated. The most common is the 12-year-old single malt from the Flora & Fauna series, which has a dark color, as well as honey-ginger and oak aromas.
