Destylarnia Glenfarclas

Glenfarclas Distillery was established in 1836 in the heart of Speyside, at the foot of Ben Rinnes Mountain. Its name in Gaelic means “valley of green grasses” and refers to the wonderful surroundings surrounding the distillery. It is one of the few Scottish distilleries that has been privately owned by the Grants family for six generations. Glenfarclas is famous for the highest quality whisky and an excellent selection of oloroso sherry casks from the cooperage in Jerez. It is said that it is difficult to find distilleries in Scotland that boast as many quality and old barrels in storage as Glenfarclas. Whisky is produced here in a sustainable and traditional way, incl. directly heating the stills with fire. An interesting fact is that the distillery is famous for its unique microclimate, which significantly reduces the so-called “Angel’s share”, which allows the distillate to mature longer.

Rarely, almost half of the production goes to the market as a single malt version, which proves the great popularity among whisky lovers. The wide range of official single malt editions, often with a long maturation period, provided the Glenfarclas distillery with a devoted group of enthusiasts. The whisky from this distillery is full of aromas of dried fruit, sherry and toffee.
