Destylarnia Glenrothes
Glenrothes Distillery is located in Rothes, in the heart of the Speyside region. It is situated at the foot of the hills, next to Rothes Burn. The water for the production of whisky is taken from the natural, crystal clear springs of Ardcanna and Brauchhill.
The history of the Glenrothes distillery, built in 1879, is very turbulent, the distillery had three major devastations. The last of them, in 1922, remains in the memory of local residents to this day, who remember the whisky river flowing into the Burn of Rothes stream. Each time, however, Glenrothes Distillery recovered from these incidents like a phoenix from the ashes and now plays a large role in the Scotch whisky market.
The characteristic single malt bottles from this distillery are known to most whisky connoisseurs, as well as the light, fruity character and wonderful aromas that differ depending on the barrels used for maturation.
