Increase in sales of the Rémy Cointreau portfolio
French group Rémy Cointreau, owner of Scotch whisky Bruichladdich, in the latest report informs about an increase in sales by approx. 2% in the last reporting year (from April 2020 to March 2021) to the level of over EUR 1 billion. The group's operating profit amounted to EUR 236 million, an increase of approximately 13% compared to the previous year.
According to the group's report, the increase in sales in the second half of the year was mainly due to China and the Americas, where sales of alcohol brands from the Rémy Cointreau group's portfolio increased by 20% and 38.7%, respectively.
The biggest sales driver in China were Scotch whisky, which recorded a 40% increase in sales.
“Single malt whiskies had double-digit sales growth across all three macro-regions more than offset ongoing weakness in global travel retail sales with an excellent performance of the portfolio during the Chinese New Year 2021" the group's report reads.
